What is RIQS?

In one sentence: RIQS is a web platform that helps an organisation run its daily quality and risk management in one place: documents, plans, tasks, checks, incident reports, equipment, training and surveys.

The problem RIQS solves

Organisations such as medical practices, clinics and care facilities have to prove that they work safely and to a defined quality standard. Without a shared system, this work is usually spread across:

  • Word files and PDFs in personal folders and email
  • paper checklists and wall calendars for shifts and maintenance
  • spreadsheets for training, equipment and complaints
  • conversations that nobody can trace later

People then don't know which document is the official one. Tasks get forgotten, and audits become stressful.

RIQS brings all of this into one system. It has clear roles and permissions, approval steps, reminders and a traceable history.

Who uses RIQS

Who Typical use
Staff (Professionals) See their shifts and tasks, read documents, fill in forms and checklists, report incidents, take trainings and surveys
Unit leads (Power Users, Management) Plan the unit's work, assign tasks, approve documents, follow up on reports
Organisation admins (Administrators, Group Administrators) Set up units and users, manage the subscription, define organisation-wide rules
Officers (e.g. CIRS Officer, Equipment Officer) Handle one special area for the unit or organisation
RiQS Administrators (platform team) Create organisations, support clients, manage the platform

Read Roles & permissions for the details.

Key ideas to remember

  1. Everything belongs to a unit. A unit is one team or site, for example one practice. Units belong to an organisation. See How RIQS is organised.
  2. Your role decides what you see. Two people can open the same module and see different buttons.
  3. The subscription decides which modules exist. If a module isn't part of your organisation's subscription, it doesn't appear in the menu.
  4. Modules are connected. For example, a form stored in RiQS-Pedia can be used in a Process Guide, a shift checklist or an equipment check.

Where RIQS runs

  • Web app. The main way to use RIQS, in any modern browser. These docs describe the web app.
  • Mobile app. A companion app for staff on the move. It is not covered in these docs yet.
